Since 1680 the best billard cloth is produced by the Belgian company Simonis. All important tournaments worldwide are played on Simonis cloths. We recommend to our customers Simonis because Simonis is simply the most durable and long-lasting billard cloth available as well as best suited for the process of actually covering your billard table.

How much cloth do you need to cover your billard table?

To cover only the playing surface of your billiard table is not that complicated provided you are a somewhat skillful craftsman. Call us or drop by at our store in Berne and we will gladly give you some hints and advice. Careful though, the covering of the cushions is a lot harder. Das Beziehen der Banden ist allerdings recht schwierig. Here we seriously recommend that you call upon our services.

Out of experience we know that ordering the right amount of cloth is not easy for amateurs. For instance for the cloth width of 165 cm we recommend the following: You basically need length of playing surface plus 30 cm. Example: a 8 ft billard table has got a playing surface of 224 x 112 cm. So 224 cm plus 30 cm equals 254 cm. Because you need to work very precisely we advise you to take a little mit more as a security margin. So 260 cm would be appropriate. If you need cloth to cover the cushions just add 100 cm on top so you would need eventually 360 cm.

Simonis 760 in comparison to Simonis 860:

Official tournaments are usually played on Simonis 860 provides a better grip and is faster because of its higher percentage of wool than Simonis 760. Out of experience the 860 wears faster down though than the 760. Therefore we generally recommend the Simonis 760 for home usage.
